A Functional Capacity Assessment is a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s functional abilities (how well they can perform an activity/task). It also considers their support needs, goals, and areas for development.
Assessment and information gathering can take place across a wide range of performance areas in self-care and day-to-day living and can take place in-home and in relevant community locations. Our Occupational Therapists also consider what assistive technology (equipment), resources or modifications may be recommended.
Here at Helen Walker Occupational Therapy, our Occupational Therapists have a wealth of experience working with intellectual, psychosocial, mental health, neurological, physical, and sensory support needs. Coupled with experience in NDIS, health care, disability, and child safety environments, Our therapists are qualified in selecting and performing the most appropriate and relevant assessment tools to gather the pertinent information that best reflects you or your client’s needs.
An effective Functional Capacity Assessment Report can assist with ensuring clients have the right level of support and NDIS funding to achieve their goals and needs.
